Must See in Buenos Aires
There are many things to see in Buenos Aires, almost too many to mention. The Latin American city is a thriving hub of activity, with lots going on and many things to do. Whether you visit the city in the winter or the summer you will be welcomed by friendly locals and fabulous food. The chaotic and frenzied exterior may seem daunting, but underneath there is a laid back city waiting to be uncovered. La Recoleta Cemetery
This exclusive graveyard is home to many rich and famous inhabitants. This cemetery is like no other in the world, and rather than feeling like a traditional graveyard it instead feels like a small city. With winding streets and elaborate architecture this cemetery may be just as impressive as the larger city which towers above the ancient buildings. There are several places you should visit when you come to Buenos Aires and this is definitely one. Take a tour of the famous tombs including the grave of the most famous Argentinian, Eva Perón’s tomb, affectionately known as Evita. The heart-wrenching sculpture of a bride who died in an avalanche on her honeymoon is also a popular attraction.
Teatro Colon
If you were going to go anywhere to experience the old Argentina you should visit the Teatro Colon. The old building harks back to a period of opulence and grandeur, so whether you walk through the entrance or sit in the massive theatre you will discover the magic of both opera and theatre. This venue is acoustically considered to be amongst the five best concert venues in the world, so anyone visiting this region should try to attend a performance here.
Cafe Tortoni
There are many cafes strewn across the city, but none quite Cafe Tortoni, it is perhaps the most famous cafe in Argentina and has hosted many celebrities since 1858.
