Surrounded by the Mediterranean ocean you are never that far from the coastline and beautiful oceanic views.  Sardinia is a great place to hire a car to drive along the coast to explore its landscape and find immaculate beaches where you can sit back and enjoy your surroundings while relaxing.

Cagliari City

If you are new to the island its capital Cagliari is a good starting point, its southern location provides it with plenty of warm weather and being the most populous city, as well as having many restaurants where you can dine out in style there are also a number of shopping centres to spend your money.

This ancient city is great to be at leisure.  Staying central you can walk around on foot and take in its history by viewing the historic architecture which Cagliari built its foundations on.  Afterwards you can drive no more than 16 minutes by car or take a bus to Poetto, once in Poetto you can visit one of Italy’s longest beaches and relax on its golden sand and bathe in the blue ocean water.

San Teodoro

However if you wish to visit Sardinia’s most treasured beach that has the silkiest sand, San Teodoro a popular tourist spot in the North is home to La Cinta beach.   Its crystal clear water is so clear you can wade through its shallow waters and see the ocean bed and see the white sand shining back at you and spot fish from far away.

San Teodoro is also abundant in wildlife and its marshlands are home to a number of different species making this destination ideal for exploring nature at its best.   This place is ideal for families and for people wishing to chill out and relax.
